Sharmina Nasrin for Ward 20

A Voice for Every Scarborough Story

Scarborough Southwest deserves leadership that understands both the community and the system. Sharmina Nasrin is running to deliver practical progress on housing, transit, opportunity and community services.

She knows the community. She knows the system.

Sharmina Nasrin is a Bangladeshi‑Canadian, a mother, a public servant and a Ward 20 resident for nearly a decade. Born in Bangladesh and educated at Dhaka University and York University, she understands the newcomer journey, the pressure working families face and the barriers many residents experience when trying to access housing, jobs, transit and city services. Her career inside the Ontario Ministry of the Solicitor General has given her a deep understanding of how government works — how decisions are made, how budgets move and how communities can be overlooked. She is running to make sure Scarborough Southwest is no longer treated as Toronto’s afterthought.

Public Servant

Experienced in provincial government, she knows how to navigate systems and deliver real results for residents.

Ward 20 Resident

As a proud resident and neighbour, Sharmina has lived, worked and raised her family in Scarborough Southwest for nearly a decade.

Community Builder

Driven by her immigrant experience and mother’s perspective, she brings people together around practical solutions.
